‘Abu-Ghazaleh University College for Innovation’ Launches its Academic Programs in Lebanon





In cooperation with Lebanon-based American University of Technology

BEIRUT - Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University College for Innovation (TAGUCI), a member of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), has signed a cooperation agreement with the Lebanon-based American University of Technology (AUT) in a  ceremony held at the the National Library in Beirut, in the presence of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of TAG.Global, and the University’s Board of Trustees members, in addition to a number of government officials, academics and media representatives. 

The agreement, that was signed by Mr. Burhan Al Ashkar, representative of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh for Culture and Media in Lebanon, and Dr. Ghada Saqer Hinain, AUT president, stipulates the provision of academic programs offered by TAGUCI, especially in the areas of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital marketing, entrepreneurship, and other  AUT’s relevant faculties disciplines.  

The agreement also entailed the changing of the name of AUT’s existing Continuing Education Center to become ‘Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Center for Continuing Education – American University of Technology’.   

In this regard, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh pointed out that the education sector in Lebanon is experiencing major crises, affirming, that “it is not allowed for education to collapse, due to its important role in developing human capital; the backbone of creativity and innovation.” He further emphasized the need to spread digital culture, enhance technological knowledge and equip the students and youth with the skills they need. 

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh also referred to the vital role TAG.Global plays in contributing to the development of the education system through the previously-launched ‘TAGEPEDIA Digital Learning Project’; a project that is based on three essential elements: digital software, communication tools, and internet access.

Dr. Hinain expressed her pride in cooperating with TAG.Global and its Chairman, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh; whom she described as one of the knowledge scholars, pointing out that the agreement is the first of its kind in Lebanon, which would serve Lebanon at the cultural, knowledge and intellectual levels. 

She went on to state that “We  are in the process of establishing a new scientific track specialized in digital learning, which would effectively contributes to sharpening capacities of the next generations, to become the first integrated Center in Lebanon.”

For her part, Dr. Nesrine Dannaoui, AUT vice president for external projects, pointed out that the University and TAG.Global share a commitment to fostering scientific research, creativity and innovation; noting that creativity in the field of knowledge and information technology remains the optimal way to build a better future.
